Mission
The Great Commission provides us with our mission in this world. It answers the question: Why do we exist? As a part of The Church of the Nazarene, we believe our mission to come from Matthew 29:19.
Mission: “To Make Christ-like disciples in the nations”
This is the mission for us – the mission of God through us in this world.
Vision
Our mission gets lived out in particular ways, in specific areas, in a certain time. How mission gets lived out is called vision. The vision statement provides us with a picture of what the mission will look like as it is realized in community.
Vision: GracePoint Church exists to live authentic lives of love, generosity, and joy. We are a Christ-centered community of faith that is rooted in the transforming love of Jesus and serve all people by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Core Values
Core Values frame the decision making process for ministry. How are we going to accomplish the mission and vision? Our leadership team has identified the following 6 values as core to who we are and who Christ is calling us to be that will guide our ministries.
Authentic – we desire to be real and known before God and one another. We say, “come as you are” because we do. Matthew 11:28-30/James 5:16
Transformation – we believe that the purpose of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to transform our world and us as individuals. This occurs primarily through prayer. 2 Chronicles 7:14/Romans 12:1-8
Devoted – we desire to be devoted to God and to others. This happens through our daily relationship with Christ and as part of a worshipping community. Ephesians 3:14-21
Loving – we desire to be people who are changed by the Love of Christ and share that love with everyone we encounter. The Fruit of the Spirit acting through us produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Matthew 22:36-40/ Matthew 22:39/John 13:35/Galatians 5:22-23
Generous – we desire to give of ourselves, our time, talent, and treasure to the work of Christ in this world. John 3:16/Acts 2:44-45
Community – we desire to live in relationship because we need each other. We gather for worship and we are sent into our workplaces, schools, stores, and our greater community to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Acts 2:42/Hebrews 10:24-25
